I just got back from our dear friends' house, who had a baby girl a couple weeks ago. I got to experiment with the camera and take some newborn photos for them! Precious time! God was super kind and the weather was gorgeous, so we spent all the photo time outdoors! Wonderful! It's 70 degrees right now!!!!! And, it's February 17th!

Crawling Chica
Have we mentioned that our little girl is using crawling as an actual method of transportation? She still prefers to stand, but can't go anywhere on her own with that....yet. She's crawling, cruising, and loving to get into trouble :) Thankfully, on playdates, she actually kind of plays with other babies now (instead of just crying or being super clingy).

A Welcomed Break from the Cold
Last weekend was amazing! The weather was beautiful!!!! We thought spring had come! Thankfully, Paul and I didn't have anything pressing on the calendar, so we took advantage of the wonderful weather! Saturday morning, we took care of things around the house....oil changes, organizing, etc. Then, around lunch time, we went to Haw Ridge, a mountain bike trail in Oak Ridge. No worries, we didn't mountain bike. Haha, someone actually asked me if I did that yesterday. Crazy people. We loaded Hannah into the backpack (one actually designed for babies), and went walking! Hannah LOVED it!!! It's like she was saying, "look, there's a tree....there's another....ohhh can I touch that?" We let her play with sticks and leaves while in the backpack and she playfully hit Paul on the back with those and grabbed his flowing locks of hair :). I think she's on her way to loving the outdoors!
On Sunday, during the late afternoon, we went to a local park to walk around and let Hannah swing on the baby swing and fly down the slide. She doesn't quite know what to make of either of those activities, but I think she'll grow to love them! We love having a baby girl!
As far as development, it was a big weekend for that as well. As you know, she is crawling (when forced). She still loves to stand up more than anything. She has learned to pull herself up in her crib, which means we moved the mattress down on Saturday. She is also able to feed herself more, which means I can eat at the same time she does! It does equal more mess, but I'll take it! She is also pointing to a lot of stuff as we walk around the house. The particulars are the lights (she has a special appreciation for the one in the hallway for some reason), and the smoke detectors. I think she's realizing they are in almost every room. Maybe her first word will be "smoke detector" haha. Doubtful.
