Our Eventful July

Well I just spend about an hour typing a post and then somehow it got lost as I was trying to upload photos. I supposed that was an hour well spent, right?

Highlights from July:

Momma Chen came for a visit over the Fourth of July! We mostly spent time relaxing around the house, but we did venture down to the Farmers' Market. Of course, no outing is complete without homemade ice cream, right? Thank you Cruze Dairy Farms!

The following weekend, Hannah was able to attend Josh and Sarah Sagraves' Wedding! She actually slept through most of it, which thankfully meant that I got to sit next to my hubby during the ceremony!

Grandma Rita's 80th birthday party weekend in Nashville was next! Rita was tickled (to say the least) to see her first great granddaughter. Of course, we got the 4 generation photo, Momma Jules played peek-a-boo for the first time with Hannah (which she now understands), and Grandpa worked his magic with Hannah as she fell asleep in his arms after a rough day.

Finally, the Drolls came to visit us. Doug and Jenn are a missionary family we met in Romania. We used to babysit their four crazy kiddos. We thoroughly enjoyed our short, but sweet stay with them. Saturday evening, we went with them to another missionary's home, who are temporarily home for the birth of their 3rd child. It was so refreshing to be with other couples that share the same desire to lay down their lives and comforts of this world for the gospel. As a Christian's love for the Savior grows, the attractiveness of this world grows strangely dim and the beauty of Christ shines ever so brightly. When one loves the Savior and is living for eternity with Him, one is eager to lay down their own desires and their lives to tell others of what Christ has done on the Cross. This doesn't always mean going overseas, but for some, it does. If God calls us to go overseas again, we want to go in obedience to Him. Our prayer would be that we wouldn't even consider it a sacrifice in comparison to the sacrifice of Jesus. Oh how we desire to love others and tell them about the Savior's atoning sacrifice for our sin! Let my life but only be, that they might joy in Him with me.
